Dear Athena Members, Partners & Stakeholders: As we place a virtual bow on the year that was 2021, we’re once again reminded that one thing is assured…. uncertainty is our constant companion. And uncertainty can fuel opportunity! Companies and employees are reassessing their values, while seriously investing in professional development, career pathways, and mental wellness programs. And the other constant companion in this unprecedented journey is Athena.
As the voice of women in STEM, Athena is fully prepared to empower our members and partners to seize on these new opportunities and extend our enduring support system - digitally and without boundaries - to further our collective pursuits for gender equality in STEM. Athena is intent on deepening its advocacy efforts for gender equality and strengthening its community while empowering women during this extraordinary time of disruption. Athena’s commitment continues into 2022 and will prioritize 1) powering the leadership journey for 1 million women leading in STEM by 2030; 2) serving as the leading digital hub for women in STEM; 3) training diverse board candidates for companies ready to modernize their boardroom.
