Tracey-Lee Brown is a Director in PwC’s Governance Insights Center, which strives to strengthen the connection between directors, executive teams, and investors by helping them navigate the evolving governance landscape.
With more than 10 years of experience at PwC, Tracey brings experience in technical accounting, SEC and financial reporting.
She advises boards and committee members on a variety of governance related issues, and contributes to thought leadership focused on topics including environmental, social, and governance (ESG), audit committee oversight, and risk oversight.
Tracey initially started with our PwC South Africa firm in 2007 and transferred to the PwC New York office in 2012. She is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in New York), as well as a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. She holds an Honors Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the University of South Africa. Tracey also serves as a board member at a non-profit organization called Women Creating Change. Tracey lives in New York with her husband and son.
Sanjay S. Shukla, M.D., M.S. has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer and as a board member since November 2017. Dr. Shukla served as our Chief Medical Officer from March 2016 to November 2017. From April 2015 to March 2016, Dr. Shukla worked in an advisory capacity for a number of companies, including as a consultant to aTyr from January 2016 to March 2016. Prior to that, from October 2012 to April 2015, Dr. Shukla served as Vice President and Global Head of Integrated Medical Services for Novartis, a biopharmaceutical company, where he led global medical affairs operations, with oversight for all pharma general medicines therapies, both inline and in development. Dr. Shukla served as Chief Executive Officer of RXMD, a clinical development consultancy that assisted in advancing proof of concept for early stage drug candidates, from April 2009 to September 2012. Prior to that, Dr. Shukla served in a variety of clinical development, data analytics and drug safety roles at Vifor Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company, and Aspreva Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Vifor Pharma). Dr. Shukla received his M.D. from Howard University College of Medicine and his Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Maryland.
Tracy Ting joined Encore Capital Group in 2019 and serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing more than two decades of combined finance and HR expertise. In this role, Ms. Ting provides global enterprise leadership, strategic vision and functional expertise to Encore’s Human Resources and Corporate Communications functions.
Ms. Ting comes to Encore from Avanir Pharmaceuticals where she was their Chief People Officer. As a high-performing leader with an influential mindset and a creative strategist, she drove key business objectives and set strategic direction for people and overall culture towards innovation, growth and accountability. Prior to Avanir, Ms. Ting served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Affymetrix, a public global life science tools company, up until its acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2016.
Ms. Ting was pivotal as part of the executive team that led the company’s successful turnaround and cultural transformation. Prior to Affymetrix, Ms. Ting worked at Varian Medical Systems, the global market leader in radiation oncology, for 15 years and held various leadership roles in HR and Finance and contributed toward its worldwide growth from 1,900 to 8,000 employees. Prior to Varian, Tracy worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (formerly Coopers & Lybrand LLP) in Los Angeles.
Tracy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies with an emphasis in Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Glenn Williams is Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer at Qualcomm. In this role, Glenn brings nearly 15 years of strategic HR and D&I experience to Qualcomm. Prior to this role, Glenn held management positions for companies including Amazon and ExxonMobil. Prior to that he worked for the global law firm Clifford Chance. He is also a combat veteran who served in the Judge Advocate General Corps, in the US Army.
Additionally, Glenn is highly active in the community. He is on the Board of Directors for the Midway Museum and the San Diego County Big Brothers Big Sisters. A native of Chicago, IL, Glenn earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Glenn also has a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School and a master’s degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma. He resides in San Diego, Ca, with his wife and two daughters.
Deborah Martin is vice president, talent management for Sempra. In this role she is responsible for employee acquisition and retention, benefits, succession planning strategies, and ethics and investigations functions, all to advance Sempra’s high-performance culture as an employer of choice. Prior to joining Sempra’s legal department in 2010 where she most recently served as chief employment counsel, Martin was a partner at the Sheppard Mullin law firm.
