Christie has over 24 years of technology business leadership in multinational environments, having lived and held executive positions on two continents. During her career, she has built a reputation for operational excellence, innovative strategic thinking, working with the highest level of integrity, and a deep and passionate commitment to IBM’s clients.
She began her career at General Electric in San Diego in 1997 as a Software Consultant. Her first significant leadership role was the Product Manager of a start-up called OrderFusion in San Diego, where she oversaw the Company’s eCommerce solution. Resulting in $16M Series B funding and receiving C@LL Center CRM SolutionsTM Magazine’s 1999 Product of the Year award in 1999. Over an eight-year span, Christie held two additional Senior Technical Architectural roles with both Escalate Retail and IBM.
In 2010, Christie moved to Germany and became Chief of Staff for the CEO of Cancom GmbH. She was responsible for North American commercial partnerships, SaaS product rebranding strategy and pitching Cancom’s SaaS technology to top investment firms in Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York City and San Francisco. Resulting in a capital increase of €54.6 Million and stock revaluation from €3 to €18 by 2014. Leading to the subsequent acquisition of HPN Networks, a Hewlett Packard dealer in Silicon Valley, CA. Which ultimately hyper- accelerated Cancom’s growth to a €1B IT Service Provider for Germany.
In 2015, Christie returned to IBM in The United States as a Cloud and Cognitive Technical Architect. Managing a portfolio of XaaS solutions in Data, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for the Pacific Southwest Market. Accountable for $6.9M in annual sales and achieved between 113% to 215% in over quota attainment.
In 2017, Christie moved into a Global Data, Cognitive and Blockchain Solutions Leader role, supporting a seven-year $1.115 Billion dollar IT contract for a large Japanese multi- national electronics company; reporting to the Managing Director. Her mission was to drive business expansion in high growth business units across 11 distinct industries on five continents. All told, Christie’s portfolio contributed 29% YoY growth. The Global Account Team encompassed over 208% Total Gross Profit. Impacting IBM’s General Manager of Electronics’ FY growth targets by 12 GP Margin points.
For three years, Christie has been an active member of Athena and is currently serving a two-year position as TSIG co-chair. In 2019, Christie became Athena’s Women on Board Certified in the first cohort. In October 2020, she created Athena’s first Breast Cancer Awareness event sponsored by Thermo Fisher Scientific. In December 2021, the TSIG Committee program is being completely revamped to reflect a stronger voice of diverse women in STEM and changing our event focus as female leaders in technology.
In March 2021, Christie was recognized at IBM as a Top Performer by the IBM Global General Manager for GBS Alliances and received a promotion to Band 10 (Executive Band). In December 2021, she became IBM Industry Certified Gold for the Bank and Financial Markets.
Christie is also a young career Sponsor with IBM’s STAR (Sponsored Talent Acceleration Recognition) program. Her mentee is helping to drive social change through IBM’s Call for Code Racial Justice. Leveraging open-source technology solutions to combat systematic racism.
Lastly, Christie holds a BA degree from The University of Iowa and postgraduate coursework at the University of California San Diego. She is fluent in English and German. Today resides in Sorrento Valley in San Diego, CA.
